JOB DESCRIPTION
A Homeroom teacher at Olympiad International School will take responsibility for subjects like English, Mathematics, Science and Social studies to support transdisciplinary teaching and learning.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To adhere to scheme of work, lesson plans, lecture notes and conduct the lectures according to defined scope, syllabus, class schedule and duration as planned by the Academic department.
- To provide necessary supervision to the students and provide guidance to them, both in their studies and personality development.
- To contribute to the development and refinement of course materials and subject reviews
- To design class assignments and involving in the setting and vetting of tests and/or examination papers for the appropriate courses
- To mark and grade the assignments, scripts, test papers and/or examination papers submitted by the students, on time
- To assist in invigilating tests and/or examinations, either internal or external
- To regularly attend departmental and administrative meetings, and actively contribute to the development of the School brand
- To attend the trainings organized by the school
- To assist in organizing educational and personality development related activities for students as laid out by the School
- To clearly set learning goals for the students and ensure that they are fully supported to enjoy the journey and succeed
- To provide cover in case of need, e.g., relief classes, to other teachers
- To ensure that you develop a strong Teacher-Student relationship and also to seek and respond to feedback from the parents on an ongoing basis.
- To monitor and document class performance, identify areas of improvement, develop objective metrics to assess progress and ensure that the right attention is given to students requiring additional support
- To create and sustain a disciplined and healthy class atmosphere. Where required, seek help from the School’s support staff.
- Provide appropriate support to the School in attending to any other related activities that will help build the School brand and ensure a long & successful journey for OIS.
- Participate in any evaluation surveys that the School may conduct from time to time, and secure acceptable ratings.
Job Requirements
- A degree in Early Childhood Education plus teaching qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience in teaching in elementary grades in IB PYP international schools or MOE Primary Schools
- Experience working with bilingual and multilingual learners and learners with diverse needs
Working hours
Monday - Friday (8.30am -5.30pm)
