RESPONSIBILITIES
BW Group is seeking an SOX Executive to join our SOX Team with the responsibility to design and implement SOX controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley ("SOX") regulations. Your primary focus will be on understanding end-to-end business processes and controls, including identifying control design gaps and testing operating effectiveness of controls. This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure internal controls are effectively designed and operating efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the SOX compliance efforts including annual risk assessment and scoping exercise, assessment of controls design, controls effectiveness validation, timely tracking on gap remediation according to the relevant framework surrounding the ICFR (e.g. COSO, PCAOB, SEC guidelines, etc)
- Update SOX test plans and performs test work in accordance with the relevant frameworks
- Collaborate with business departments and IT to provide guidance to ensure proper alignment with SOX requirements and ensure controls over financial reporting are effective
- Assist with the SOX training and refresher to stakeholders to enhance awareness and quality of SOX controls
- Support the preparation of reports on SOX compliance status to senior management and the audit committee.
- Collaborate with Internal and External Auditors and other stakeholders to support the SOX audits and reviews
- Degree in Accounting / Finance or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of professional working experience required in SOX or audit compliance, or a similar role; Big 4 experience strongly preferred
- Analytical with problem-solving skills and proficient in utilising tools (e.g. Visio, SOX compliance software)
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver results within defined timelines
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to understand comprehensive process flows and control matrices
- Diligent, credible with strong integrity and works effectively as an integral part of the SOX team to achieve challenging and dynamic objectives
