In the role of a Kitchen Assistant, the candidate will provide daily operational support in our kitchen. This position is pivotal for someone who is self-driven, passionate, and organized. The Kitchen Assistant will be a vital part of our kitchen team, primarily focusing on preparing high-quality sandwiches and assisting in various kitchen duties. Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Prepare a variety of menu items, including pastas, snacks (e.g., fries, drumlets), and sandwiches, following specific recipes and presentation standards.
- Daily Operations: Assist in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen area, ensuring it is fully operational for service.
- Order Fulfillment: Prepare orders promptly and accurately, adhering to kitchen SOPs and quality standards.
- Cooking Stations: Operate cooking equipment, including fryers, induction cookers, and other stations, as part of food preparation.
- Dishwashing: Operate dishwashing machines to clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment effectively, ensuring cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen staff and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless communication and service flow.
- Basic Food Prep: Assist the kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients.
- Cleanliness and Hygiene: Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation requirements, including proper food handling and storage.
- Event Support: Provide assistance during events at CQ Swee Lee Café, ensuring efficient kitchen operations and timely order delivery.
- Inventory Assistance: Monitor kitchen supplies and ingredients, reporting any shortages or needs for replenishment.
Requirements
- Passion for food and a keen interest in learning culinary skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Prior experience in a kitchen or food service setting is a plus but not necessary.
