Head/Principal Social Worker
Key Summary
The incumbent leads the social work practice across disciplines by providing multi-disciplinary perspective to guide the development and implementation of holistic interventions at the cluster or sub-sector level and across the Foundation.
Key Responsibilities
Practice Framework
- Ensures quality geriatric care through continuous improvement, mentorship, audits, and collaboration with the integrated team; enhancing patient experiences, drive innovation, advocate for policy changes, and support sustainable growth through informed planning and research.
- Develops and reviews framework for the foundation's operating guidelines, service standards and performance indicators of the programmes
- Plan operational goals and strategic focus for the practice and provide recommendations on practices and policy changes in consultation with the board and management team
- Review organisational capability for service delivery and maintain operational efficiency in line with strategic objectives
- Oversee development and evaluation of programmes across various social service settings and providers to enhance service quality and delivery
- Formulate and lead improvements in models of care and service delivery based on research and emerging trends
- § Provide input to inform policy changes and development at the national level
- Supervise delivery of interventions by team members and facilitates internal inter-disciplinary group discussions as well as case conferences with external agencies
- Develop supervision guidelines and lead the professional development of social workers
- Case work and Group work
- Strategise approaches to track outcomes of casework interventions for effectiveness
- Lead implementation of domain-specific case and care plans and interventions
- Review progress and effectiveness of casework interventions, closure of cases and social reports
- Develop group work intervention plans and review their progress and effectiveness
- Community Development
- Lead the integration of environmental scans and community needs/resources into new community development initiatives and review its progress for effectiveness and applicability
- Drive development and implementation of initiatives and outreach plans through collaboration and advocacy with key stakeholders
- Lead as spokesperson and collaborate with the training academy as subject matter expert
- Plan and execute on-site or online public education and trainings
Key Requirements
- Accredited Social Worker with a Degree in Social Work
- Minimum 8 - 10 years of clinical experience working with older persons and caregivers and additional 3-5 years of supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge on the health and social sectors in Singapore
- Strong people, networking and negotiation skills; able to communicate effectively advocating and educating about social service issues
- Able to manage projects and handle media relations, work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Able to converse in in dialects / local languages
- Has a penchant for work in a community setting
