- Support Senior Management in the development and implementation of business strategies. Facilitate and nurture strong client relationships while proposing partnership models (focused on legal aspects) for strategic collaborations.
- Establish and oversee the Contracts Department, managing all aspects of pre- and post-contract administration and tender processes, including procurement activities.
- Lead the team in cost planning and the preparation of tender submissions.
- Supervise the process of obtaining quotations, conducting negotiations, evaluating bids, making recommendations, and finalizing contracts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to draft, review, negotiate, and execute contracts for marine construction projects. Ensure all agreements are accurate, comprehensive, legally compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives, including assessing obligations, payment terms, deliverables, and associated risks.
- Identify potential contractual and project-related risks, devising and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Review and validate monthly progress claims.
- Assess payment claims from subcontractors.
- Attend client and project site meetings to discuss costs, variations, and project-related matters. Coordinate with clients and consultants on key issues.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and relevant stakeholders to ensure adherence to contract terms and the achievement of project milestones.
- Track project budgets and expenditures, ensuring alignment with contract terms while identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide legal advice and support to various teams, including drafting, negotiating, and managing contract documentation.
- Engage with internal and external legal advisors to address and resolve disputes.
- Prepare formal contractual correspondence to clients, consultants, and subcontractors, such as extension of time claims and other key notices.
- Maintain comprehensive records of contract activities and provide regular updates to senior management regarding contract status, risks, and challenges.
- Conduct regular reviews to evaluate contract performance, identify areas for enhancement, and optimize overall value delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 8 -10 years of experience in contract management in construction industry, including experience with large-scale projects.
- Legal knowledge and experience with contracts are preferred
- Good in presentation and negotiation skills.
