Primary Responsibilities
Using our own network of ship brokers, correspondents, subscription products, public databases, company reports, trade and specialist media, the Dry Bulk Analyst will:
· Monitor the latest developments in the dry bulk commodity markets
· Be responsible for producing weekly and daily reports
· Assist brokers with ad hoc requests as per their client’s needs
· Assist in producing monthly reports on the dry bulk market outlook
· Produce reports autonomously according to the latest macroeconomic and localised developments, which have had or may impact the dry bulk market
· Co-operate with broking colleagues to generate the house view for the dry bulk markets
· Give client presentations, pitches and conferences
· Assist Research colleagues with periodical and ad-hoc research requests from internal and external clients
· Assist with the production of content for the newly launched website, as well as contributing to its development
· Assist in editing reports before publication
· Assist in the managing of and maintenance of the Valuation Tool app
Knowledge and Skills
· Minimum five years’ experience
· Strong understanding of shipping market fundamentals
· Excellent communication skills, and ability to work on own initiative
· Proven track record in client presentations and participation in conferences
· Personable character comfortable working in a team environment
· Highly proficient in all MS Office software
· Ability to work to deadlines
· Excellent organisational skills
· Able to work quickly under varying workloads, including reviewing many documents at any given time
