Position Summary: The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to support the Singapore branch's operations and growth objectives. This role requires a highly experienced professional fluent in Mandarin and English, with a proven ability to perform consecutive interpretations between the two languages to ensure smooth business communications. Candidates must possess relevant industry expertise, management experience, and the skills to effectively bridge cultural and language differences in a fast-paced international environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Support and Management: Collaborate with the General Manager in strategic planning and execution to support company growth and promote international awareness of China’s futures market.
Oversee day-to-day operations, ensure alignment with the company's strategic goals, and maintain high operational standards.
- Bilingual Communication and Interpretation: Facilitate effective communication by performing consecutive interpretation in high-level meetings, presentations, and other business interactions between Mandarin and English.
Draft, review, and translate key documents and communications to ensure clear and professional language in both English and Mandarin.
- Business Development and Client Relations: Assist in expanding the company’s client network by supporting initiatives that encourage both Chinese and overseas clients to participate in the future market.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry counterparts, partners, and clients, to support long-term business development.
- Team Leadership and Cross-functional Coordination: Manage and mentor staff within the Singapore office, fostering a high-performance culture and providing guidance to ensure team goals align with company objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, compliance, and operations, to ensure smooth workflows and timely project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, Language, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within the futures, financial services, or related industries, with at least 1 year in a managerial role.
- Proficiency in both Mandarin and English, with strong abilities in consecutive interpretation and business-level written communication.
- Demonstrated knowledge of China’s futures market and its international expansion.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and effectively manage a team.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach and the ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving international environment.
