Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Vacuum Coating Engineer specializing in sputtering technology to join our team focused on the development and manufacturing of perovskite thin-film solar modules. The ideal candidate will lead the design, optimization, and scaling of vacuum-based sputtering processes for thin-film deposition, ensuring high efficiency, uniformity, and durability in solar module production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Development & Optimization:
- Develop and optimize sputtering processes for deposition of thin films, including metal oxides, metals, and transparent conductive layers for perovskite solar modules.
- Ensure thin-film uniformity, adhesion, and electrical/optical performance through advanced process tuning and control.
- Drive innovation to improve layer quality, throughput, and yield.
2. Equipment Management & Scaling:
- Select, install, and maintain sputtering equipment to meet R&D and production goals.
- Collaborate with vendors to integrate new technologies and enhance equipment capabilities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues effectively.
3. Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with material scientists, device engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure compatibility of thin-film layers with perovskite solar cell designs.
- Support the scale-up from lab-scale to pilot and full-scale production.
4.Data Analysis & Quality Control:
- Perform rigorous characterization of sputtered films using tools like SEM, AFM, XRD, and spectrophotometry.
- Implement robust quality control protocols to ensure consistency across batches.
5. Research & Innovation:
- Stay up to date with advancements in sputtering and thin-film technologies.
- Contribute to intellectual property development and patent applications.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor or Master in Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in vacuum coating, specifically sputtering, preferably in the thin-film photovoltaic, display, or semiconductor industries.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in physical vapor deposition (PVD), including RF and DC sputtering.
- Familiarity with perovskite material systems and thin-film deposition challenges.
- Hands-on experience with vacuum system design, operation, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in thin-film characterization techniques.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
- Effective communication and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in scaling sputtering processes from R&D to high-volume manufacturing.
