We are looking for a creative Social Media Content Producer to join the social media team in Lianhe Zaobao's China News desk. In this role, you will produce content for Zaobao's Chinese audiences, and grow Zaobao's audiences on Chinese social media platforms, specifically Xiaohongshu (XHS).
You will be expected to:
● Create, write, and publish engaging social media posts on XHS tailored for Chinese audiences, covering topics like life guides, attractions, and activities in Singapore, to raise brand awareness of Zaobao among the community
● Design and produce visual assets for social media, including graphics and memes
● Collaborate with producers, videographers, and editors to brainstorm, plan, film, and edit videos for XHS
● Edit short videos independently
● Present content through on-camera hosting or skit
● Stay updated on the latest social media trends, platforms, and news to innovate content production
Requirements
● Degree/Diploma in Media Studies, Communications, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or Graphic Design preferred
● Effectively bilingual in English and Chinese (written and spoken) as this role is for a Chinese publication
● Proven experience in creating content specifically for XHS or other Chinese social media platforms, with a focus on lifestyle topics; good understanding of what appeals to the targeted audiences
● Competent in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva); able to film and edit short videos independently with Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or other mobile video editing apps.
● Strong understanding of current social media trends, especially on XHS, to create culturally relevant content that appeals to Chinese-speaking audiences
● Possesses a strong sense of humour and creativity, enabling the quick development of engaging content
● Has a willing-to-learn attitude, meticulous, self-motivated and is able to work independently as well as collaboratively with various stakeholders
● Ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadline
