We are a small, inclusive private school in Singapore dedicated to nurturing each child’s potential, with a focus on students with diverse learning needs. Our goal is to provide a supportive, adaptive educational experience that helps children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our school is rapidly growing, and we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Head of Learning Support to lead our learning support initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Personalized Learning Plans: Design and oversee Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies for students requiring additional support.
- Lead by Example to Deliver Targeted Educational Therapy: Provide one-on-one or small-group educational therapy sessions focused on addressing learning challenges, including language-based learning disorders, ADHD, autism, and other special needs.
- Lead and Mentor a Team: Guide and collaborate with a team of learning support specialists, therapists, and teaching assistants to ensure consistent, high-quality support across all levels.
- Collaborate with Teachers: Work closely with classroom teachers to tailor curriculum, adjust teaching strategies, and incorporate therapy techniques that accommodate various learning profiles.
- Parent and Community Engagement: Regularly communicate with parents and caregivers, offering guidance and feedback on student progress and at-home strategies, while working with external specialists as needed.
- Professional Development and Training: Provide ongoing training for staff on inclusive education practices and therapeutic approaches to enhance their ability to support diverse learners.
- Monitor and Evaluate Progress: Regularly assess and adjust intervention plans based on each student’s evolving needs, progress, and therapy goals.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology or a related field with a focus on educational therapy.
- At least 5 years of experience in special education, educational therapy, or a related setting, with a proven track record in developing and implementing effective intervention plans.
- Strong leadership experience, ideally in an educational or therapy-based role.
- Deep knowledge of learning disorders, therapeutic approaches, and classroom-based intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, with an empathetic approach to working with students, staff, and families.
