Job Summary:
As a Management Trainee, you will be provided with hands-on training and mentorship, gaining exposure to all aspects of funeral planning, from managing family relations to funeral coordination and logistics. You will work closely with experienced Funeral Directors to ensure the highest standards of service. This is a career-development role, with the expectation of progressing into an Assistant Funeral Director position, where you will take on a more direct leadership role in supporting families and planning funerals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Family Engagement & Support:
- Support and guide families through the initial planning and preparation stages, ensuring all details are handled with care, respect, and professionalism.
- Assist in personalising funeral and memorial services to meet each family’s specific wishes.
- Funeral Planning & Coordination:
- Understand the process of planning, coordinating, and overseeing setting up of wake venue, and ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
- Ensure that all the set up and tear down of wake venues and logistics are managed seamlessly.
- Overseeing and managing the funeral ceremony, including but not limited to, emceeing, conducting rites and ensuring that the service goes smoothly.
- Operations Management:
- Gain proficiency in managing set up and tear down of the wake venues, alongside operational team as well as vendors.
- Gain an appreciation of managing daily operations, including maintenance of equipments and vehicles, as well as management of staff.
- Understanding management of inventory, ensuring the operations runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
- Administrative & Compliance Support:
- Assist with the preparation of funeral documentation, legal paperwork, and ensuring all processes comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Learn to manage financial aspects of services, including invoicing, payments, and record-keeping.
- Aftercare Services:
- Learn how to provide compassionate aftercare services to grieving families, including managing grief workshops, holding group memorial services, and follow-up communication.
