Job description
We are looking for part-timers who are energetic and passionate about baking to join our team!
Previous experience in a bakery or culinary environment is preferred but not compulsory. Must have strong interest in baking, willingness to learn on the job with great initiative and a Can-Do! attitude.
Must possess valid Food Safety Course Level 1 certification. Alternatively, must be prepared to take and pass the course promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of Ingredients: Assist in measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients for baked goods.
2. Baking: Follow baking procedures and schedules to produce various baked goods such as cinnamon rolls, muffins and cookies. Must be able to operate and maintain equipment such as ovens, mixers, and other kitchen equipment.
3. Quality Control: Ensure that all baked products meet the standards for quality, consistency and appearance.
4. Cleaning & Maintenance: Maintain a safe, sanitary and organised work area, including cleaning baking tools, equipment and surfaces. Ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards.
5. Product Decoration: Assist in preparation of various icing options and ensure finished baked goods are decorated in accordance with design guidelines or customer requests.
6. Inventory Management: Help keep track of ingredient levels and notify the baker when supplies need to be ordered or replenished.
7. Packing: Inspect and pack freshly baked products into designated packaging according to quality standards and requirements.
8. Customer Interaction: Some interaction with customers and cashiering will be required.
Working hours and remuneration
- Willing to work shifts, weekends and possibly public holidays.
- Open to hire for permanent part-time positions and/or specific time frames
- Bakery is located in the East at Telok Kurau
- Hourly pay rates: $9-$12 depending on relevant experience.
