The Operations Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of products in a food manufacturing environment. This role involves monitoring production processes, conducting quality checks, enforcing compliance with regulatory and internal standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance & Control:
- Perform routine quality inspections and audits across all stages of the production process, including raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
- Monitor adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and food safety protocols.
- Review the tests method and analysis using established quality control methods, ensuring products meet defined specifications and standards.
- Responsible for the Batch record review and perform the release of the product. Work closely with production and supply chain team to ensure the market demand is fulfilled.
- Document and report non-conformities and collaborate with relevant teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the new product initiative with different stakeholders, ensure the quality of the product is compliance to the product specification
- Managing the equipment calibration used in QC & Production, to ensure the calibration is up to date and maintained.
- Review and manage the GMP audit, to ensure the GMP requirement is maintained and at audit ready status.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with GFSI standard and regulations (e.g. BRCGS, FDA, HACCP) and company policies.
- Assist in preparing for and participating in regulatory and third-party audits.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for traceability and regulatory purposes.
Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for quality improvement and work closely with production teams to enhance processes.
- Participate in root cause analyses and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and deliver training sessions for staff on quality standards and food safety practices.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between the Quality Assurance and Operations teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment on quality objectives.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to production staff and management on quality-related issues.
- Support new product development and changes in production by evaluating potential quality impacts.
