Job Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our finance department in managing day-to-day accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience in assisting with accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable:Process and manage supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Assist with the preparation and processing of payment runs.
- Accounts Receivable:Process sales invoices and ensure timely collection of outstanding payments.
Follow up with customers on overdue accounts and maintain accurate records of communications.
Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure receipts are posted correctly.
- General Ledger:Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and updating the general ledger.
Help in preparing month-end and year-end journal entries.
Support with the preparation of financial reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Payroll:Assist in the preparation of payroll data, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Maintain employee records related to payroll, benefits, and deductions.
Process expense claims and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Financial Administration: Help with the preparation of GST returns and other regulatory filings.
Assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
Provide administrative support to the finance team as required.
- Other Duties: Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
Perform any other duties as requested by the finance manager. Assist with other administrative matters when needed.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Experience:Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar role is desirable.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) is advantageous.
- Skills:Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
