The Principal HR Business Partner works as part of a regional team to provide a seamless HR service to senior line leaders, as well as providing pooled project support and resolving escalated employee enquiries.
- Provide advice directly to line leaders (typically VP / Head Of only R issues (including, e.g., talent, culture and other topics)
- Lead targeted workshops and interventions with teams at the request of a line leader
- Work independently or as part of a team including other HR BP’s and the HR Consulting team members on HR projects (including, e.g., M&A, workforce reduction)
- Resolve complex HR issues
- Manage interfaces with GBS HR and/or other HR team members as needed (but self-serving on data/transactions where appropriate)
About you
- Expertise across the full spectrum of HR policies & practices, and an ability to resolve complex HR issues independently and/or in collaboration with other HR teams
- Track record of delivering results as an individual contributor
- Flexibility to work with different leaders across the Business in their Region on a regular basis
- Strong understanding of BHP’s HR systems and processes (or ability to quickly build knowledge)
- 15+ years of experience working in diverse HR organisations, ideally within the mining industry and in the local area (or ability to quickly build requisite business knowledge)
