Position: Analytical Scientist

Position Purpose: To support analytical method development and characterization activities for pharmaceutical products in R&D and Customer Technical Services (CTS) team.

Position Period: 12 Months contract

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is based in laboratory specializing in physicochemical analysis of pharmaceutical excipients & finished products. This includes analytical testing for oral dosage forms (small molecules), as well as for biopharmaceuticals (proteins, antibodies and vaccines) ) using various analytical methods and equipment. The role supports the analytical needs of R&D and Customer Technical Service of pharmaceutical business. Typically, the role covers both late-stage research and early-stage exploration research. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop a specialty skillset using advanced instrumentation while contributing to a broad variety of projects and working within cross-functional groups.


Specific descriptions on the job scope are outlined as follows:

· Individually responsible to provide analytical support to local R&D and CTS teams.

· Provide analytical support to Roquette global analytical network when requested.

· Support or lead the development of analytical methods and characterizations of new and existing Roquette products, and finished pharmaceutical product prototypes.

· Communicate externally through scientific articles for publication, patents, posters or oral presentations, internally through appropriate communication tools for marketing and business teams.

· Participate in general lab administration activities such as troubleshooting and up-keeping of instrumentation, performing calibrations, and chemical inventory records.

· Maintain instrumentation and ensure compliance to hygiene, safety and quality standards.


REQUIREMENTS

· Graduates in Chemistry, Material Science, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences or other related subjects. Fresh PhD, MSc with 2+ years and BSc with 5+ years of relevant work experience are welcome to apply.

· Experience working with oral dosage forms (tablet, capsule, solution, suspension) and product testing such as HPLC, dissolution, characterization of powders, and solid-state characterization.

· Experience on characterization of biologics (i.e. antibodies, oligonucleotides, vaccines, etc.) including analysis of protein structure, physicochemical properties, biological activity and functional assays, and protein related purification techniques is desirable.

· Adaptable and solutions driven with strong problem-solving abilities.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in cross functional teams and build positive working relationships.

· Hands-on person and able to multitask.

· Business mindset, ability to transform market/customers needs into technical requirement.

· Creative, innovative, open minded and a can-do attitude.

· Takes ownership proactively.

· Fluent in English.
