We are looking for an Investment Advisor to be part of our Advisory and Active Investment Practices.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct market research using publicly available information and proprietary databases to identify, quantify and analyze macroeconomic trends across a variety of industry sectors
- Interpret financial analyses prepared by target fund managers, including their investment track records; and prepare valuation analyses on private companies using a variety of metrics
- Financial modeling, including leveraged buyout and cash flow analysis
- Identifying and managing the inflow of investment opportunities
- Evaluate marketing and supporting materials of prospective fund managers to identify key value drivers and important areas to explore further
- Conduct interviews with senior executives to gather insights and information into the management style and effectiveness of the target fund managers
- Develop arguments supporting certain viewpoints and effectively communicate those arguments both orally and in written materials, and be able to defend your position in a team setting, including during investment related meetings, client calls and board meetings
- Use creative solutions to source and analyze data, and to evaluate the protentional of different sectors and investment opportunities
- Monitor the performance of the Firm's existing fund managers and underlying portfolio companies; prepare for and participate in meetings with assigned managers and conduct on-going due diligence.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting (or a related discipline), or equivalent relevant experience
- At least 7 years of experience in private equity investment and/or capital markets roles
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to evaluate investments with a demonstrable understanding of the balance between risk and reward factors
- Ability to engage effectively with clients, backed by experience in client communication roles
- Proficiency in business writing with experience preparing investment-related memorandums
- Working knowledge of financial modeling (e.g. pacing models, track record analysis, portfolio construction, cash flow models, capital structures, GP/LP waterfalls, etc)
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
