Legal Counsel (Tax)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and gathering information from external partners, including the Big Four accounting firms, top-tier law firms, and outsourced compliance consulting companies. This information will be used to support senior management in making key decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the group’s tax filing processes across all global subsidiaries, including Singapore, Hong Kong and US.
- Ensure all tax-related matters are handled in a timely and compliant manner, liaising with external advisors as necessary.
- Financial Compliance Strategy:Assist in the design and review of compliance strategies related to financial operations, including but not limited to transfer pricing and tax planning.
- Provide legal advice on financial compliance and risk mitigation strategies to ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Support the development and maintenance of internal control systems for all subsidiaries within the group.
- Provide legal opinions and advice on compliance initiatives to ensure effective governance across the group.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Law (LL.B., J.D., or equivalent)
- At least five years of experience in corporate law, tax law, or financial compliance (at a top law firm or from the Big Four)
- Strong familiarity with tax regulations and corporate financial compliance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to mutitask and work with cross-functional teams Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and provide clear, actionable insights to senior management
