Job Summary:
As qualified and experienced Marine Safety & Operation Coordinator with a strong background in marine dredging and document control, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and health practices on marine dredging sites, while also managing and coordinating documentation across technical, operations, purchasing, and inventory sections.
Job Responsibilities:
- Safety Coordinator
- First point of contact for all marine safety related matter.
- Coordinate with external WSHO in implementing and improving overall marine safety processes.
- Implement, and monitor safety programs and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements for marine dredging.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and provide recommendations for preventive measures.
- Conduct safety briefings, training, and toolbox talks with crews/workers to promote awareness of safety practices.
- Coordinate in crewing related matters.
- Ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
2. Marine Dredging Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards specific to marine dredging operations.
- Oversee the safety of marine equipment, vessels, and operations during dredging activities.
3. Marine Operations
a) Purchase Request
- Liaise with the procurement department to ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase requests.
- Track and organize purchasing requests for materials, equipment, and services required for the marine dredging project.
- Ensure proper documentation of purchase orders, vendor agreements, and delivery schedules.
b) Vessel Inventory
- Maintain accurate records of equipment and material inventories used on the dredging site.
- Update and monitor stock levels, ensure proper documentation of items received, issued, and used.
- Assist in inventory audits and ensure proper storage and handling of materials as per safety guidelines.
4. Document Control
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all technical specifications, engineering drawings, safety guidelines, and environmental assessments related to marine dredging projects.
- Maintain records of project designs, updates, and revisions from engineers and technical teams.
- Maintain logs of daily site operations, including dredging activities, equipment usage, and progress reports.
- Ensure all operational procedures are documented and updated regularly.
Job Summary:
- Certified Workplace Safety and Health level B professional.
- Minimum 5 years of experiences in marine dredging or marine construction.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to marine works.
- Experience in document control or records management across technical, operations, purchasing, and inventory sections is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate between departments for documentation purposes.
- Ability to work in challenging environments and adapt to the specific safety needs of marine projects.
- Familiarity with marine dredging equipment and procedures.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and document control software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
