Job Purpose:
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial management and reporting activities of the company, including budget planning, financial analysis, and providing strategic financial advice to support the executive management team in making informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting:
- Manage the accounting processes for Singapore operations, including documentation and all related entries, such as posting General Journals.
- Ensure the Trial Balance is accurate and that all ledgers (GL, AR, AP, PA, Assets, Inventories, and Liabilities) are regularly reviewed, updated, and reconciled.
- Prepare and submit monthly management/flash reports, and quarterly reports for Board meetings.
- Coordinate and prepare financial operating budgets, interim financial forecasts, and variance reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Review the Group’s quarterly order book and provide timely and accurate operational results and financial statements to management.
- Review and approve payment and journal vouchers, petty cash claims, and monthly intercompany balance reconciliations.
Financial Analysis and Compliance:
- Assist in formulating and implementing corporate financial policies.
- Collaborate with the Operations department to ensure effective internal controls are in place.
- Prepare cash flow reports and forecasts, and review major active projects within Singapore operations to evaluate valuation accuracy and identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Ensure positive cash flow by coordinating collections and working with Purchasing and Project Managers to establish reasonable vendor terms.
- Ensure compliance with all tax, licensing, and statutory obligations, including the preparation and filing of quarterly GST returns and other statutory filings such as ACRA and XBRL.
Stakeholder Management:
- Liaise with bankers to manage bank resolutions, banker’s guarantees, etc.
- Maintain up-to-date finance and audit schedules and work closely with auditors and tax agents to provide necessary documentation for annual financial audits.
- Supervise and support the Associate Accountant and finance team to ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all accounts.
Ad-hoc Responsibilities:
- Complete various surveys for the Department of Statistics, BCA, and other regulatory bodies.
- Assist the CFO with Board matters, such as resolutions for guarantees, ad-hoc reports, and investment activities, including due diligence, feasibility studies, legal reviews, M&A, and JV assessments.
- Oversee the Accpac accounting system, troubleshoot any issues, and provide support to the organization
- Provide support to other associated operational units (e.g., Asophir / OSCG accounts).
- Assist the CFO with additional financial and investment-related tasks as needed.
Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in managing financial budgets across multiple projects.
- Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting.
- Audit experience is added advantages.
- Expertise in statutory compliance and internal controls.
