Develop best practices for ensuring cloud redundancy and data backup is enabled Develop disaster recovery plans to outline procedures for restoring cloud systems quickly following a disruptive event.
• Design and organize regular DR tests to verify the DR plans to achieve cloud systems' defined RTO and RPO.
• Make recommendations for improvements to the DR plans as new cloud recovery technologies become available to ensure increased resilience.
Work with application teams to identify and document resiliency risks and remediation plans.
Advocate for the use of automation whenever possible to reduce human error. Participate in cloud systems risk reviews.
Experience and skills requirements
Experience
Minimum 2-3 years working experience in architecting, designing, developing and implementing cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Service (AWS) Experience in identifying deficiencies in cloud recovery strategies, plans, and internal processes.
•Understanding of best cloud organizational practices, operations risk management processes, architectural requirements, and vulnerability risk.
• Experience conducting comprehensive risk assessments of information systems, applications, and processes to identify potential vulnerabilities, threats, and impacts. Experience monitoring and analyzing emerging cloud threats and trends to proactively identify potential risks.
Technical experience
Hands on experience in developing DR plans for cloud-based systems
Hands on experience in architecting, planning and conducting DR tests for cloud- based systems
Hands on experience in configuring cloud components with adequate redundancy, backup, monitoring and logging to prevent outages.
Hands on experience with providing support for cloud infrastructure audit and security compliance activities.
Certification
Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) / comparable certificate or education.
