Culinary Lab Assistant

This advertisement is recruiting for the position of Culinary Lab Assistant.

If successfully selected, you will be seconded to MOE secondary school located in Hougang.

Contract Period: From 02 January 2025 to 31 December 2025.

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

School Term:

  • Mondays to Fridays: 7:15am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 45 minutes lunch break
  • Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

School Holidays/Scheduled School Holidays

  • Mondays to Fridays: 7:15am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 45 minutes lunch break
  • Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays

The service required are set out as follows :

Food Preparation and Culinary Labs Management

  • Assist teachers in preparing materials for weekly food practicals and theory lessons.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the culinary labs and preparation room on a daily basis.
  • Perform daily safety checks on sharp tools, knives, and gas stoves after lessons.

Inventory Management

  • Assist teachers in placing weekly orders for food ingredients, materials and cleaning supplies for the department.
  • Support the ad-hoc purchase of raw food materials from supermarket and other vendors.
  • Check and account for the delivery of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
  • Keep a proper inventory record of all culinary stores and books in the Culinary Laboratories.
  • Conduct termly checks of inventory items and report any items that require replacement.

Students Management

  • Assist teachers in supervising the safety and discipline of students during lessons.

Other Administrative Support

  • Assist in preparing materials for weekly practicals and theory lessons.
  • Provide administrative support for adhoc duties and projects assigned by the school.

The personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Must complete primary school education
  • Preferable have 2 years of relevant experience in food preparation and hygiene standards.
  • Possesses basic mathematical and computer skills.
