Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated System Engineer who has strong Windows Server Management experience to help manage the installation, configuration, testing and support in IT system implementation projects.
Mandatory Skill-set
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering;
- At least 3 years of experience as a System Engineer with a focus Windows 10 and 11 operating system;
- Hands-on experiences in setup, configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows Servers and Red Hat Linux Servers;
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols;
- Familiar with system applications such as MS SQL Server, Backup software, Application Server and Checkpoint firewall;
- Experience in troubleshooting, system administration, maintenance and support firewalls and network devices;
- Knowledge and practical experience in Information Technology (IT) Security Policies and OS hardening
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users;
- Possesses strong problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
Desired Skill-set
- Experience in Virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V);
- Knowledge in networking technologies encompassing Fortinet, Sophos and Cisco switch, router, and firewalls.
Responsibilities
- Liaise and work with solution providers for the setup and troubleshooting of the IT systems hardware in Data Centre environment;
- Planning and execution of system administration, installation, deployment, testing and commissioning;
- Maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory, maintenance activities, and problem resolution;
- Create and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures;
- Work closely with project team and external customers to plan and execute system upgrades and maintenance projects;
- Conduct regular maintenance for servers and network equipment and cameras;
- Involved in standby 24/7 for Maintenance fault response;
- Respond to user-reported IT issues and provide timely technical support;
- Performing on-site for system troubleshooting to support users facing issues on both Windows and Linux systems;
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams or vendors when necessary;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to update and patch operating systems, software applications, and drivers to maintain security and performance. (Windows Server, RHEL);
- Monitor and manage software licenses, ensuring compliance and appropriate usage;
- Implement security best practices to protect systems from potential threats and vulnerabilities;
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection standards.
