- Providing expert advisory services on all aspects of workplace relations, including employee contracts, performance management, workplace investigations, and disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Liaising with internal stakeholders to develop and implement people-focused policies, procedures and solutions that align with legislation and best practice
- Coaching and supporting managers in effectively addressing employee relations issues and maintaining positive, productive employee relationships
- Identifying and mitigating potential workplace relations risks, and developing strategies to promote harmonious labour-management relations
- Representing the organisation in negotiations, mediations and conciliations with unions, regulatory bodies and other external parties
- Staying up-to-date with evolving employment laws, industry trends and best practices, and proactively advising the business accordingly
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the company's people management systems and processes
What we're looking for
- Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field
- Substantial experience (15 years) in a senior workplace relations/employee relations role, ideally within a large, complex organisation with more then 500 headcount
- Thorough understanding of industrial relations, employment law, and best practices in people management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to provide pragmatic, commercially-focused advice
- Proven track record in developing and implementing successful employee relations strategies and initiatives
