Job Description:
Provide legal and secretariat support to the company, including but not limited to:
- Responsible for the reviewing (and occasionally drafting) of legal and company secretarial related documents, with the main focus on Singapore-based contracts;
- Handle, monitor, liaise and follow-up on contractual issues, dispute settlements and document management;
- Assist with the identification and mitigation of legal risks in projects and business operations, develop and implement strategies when necessary;
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, standards and laws, and monitor the relevant changes and advise on potential impacts;
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all legal files, contracts, agreements and correspondence related to the projects;
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external professionals for corporate affairs; and
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the superiors and management.
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Law or an equivalent discipline.
- Knowledge of IP law, Employment and Workplace Health and Safety regulations, Corporate Governance, and standard contract forms such as PSSCOC, FIDIC, and others will be advantageous.
- Ability to negotiate and draft contracts, amendments, and change orders, and ensure compliance with the relevant regulations.
- Familiarity with dispute resolution mechanisms, including arbitration, mediation and litigation.
- Awareness of liability issues arising from defects, delays, or accidents on site.
- Ability to think critically and propose practical legal solutions to complex business challenges.
- Precision in reviewing contracts, legal documents, and compliance reports.
- Manage multiple legal issues concurrently without compromising the quality of work.
- A strong sense of professional ethics and integrity, particularly when advising the company on legal risk.
