Responsibilities:
- Support senior management in developing business strategies and building strong client relationships, focusing on legal considerations for partnerships and collaborations.
- Manage the Contracts Department, overseeing all pre- and post-contract administration, including tender and procurement processes.
- Lead cost planning and tender submission preparations.
- Supervise quotation invitations, negotiations, evaluations, recommendations, and confirmations.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and implement contracts for marine construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with company objectives.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to contracts and projects.
- Review monthly progress claims and evaluate subcontractor payment claims.
- Attend client and site meetings to discuss project progress, costs, and variation orders.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with contract terms and achievement of project milestones.
- Monitor budgets and expenditures, ensuring alignment with contracts and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide legal support, including drafting and negotiating contracts, and liaise with internal and external lawyers for dispute resolution.
- Draft contractual letters related to extensions of time, claims, and other matters.
- Maintain detailed records of contract activities and report on status, risks, and issues to senior management.
- Conduct regular evaluations to assess contract performance, identify improvements, and optimize value.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of experience in contract management within the construction industry, including large-scale projects.
- Preferred: Legal knowledge and experience with contracts.
- Uphold professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality while adhering to ethical standards to build trust.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills, with proficiency in contract management tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex contracts, identify risks, and implement solutions.
- Detail-oriented to accurately review, draft, and manage contracts, ensuring consistency and integrity.
- Skilled in task prioritization, meeting deadlines, and efficiently managing contract workflows.
- Comprehensive understanding of marine construction processes, industry standards, and legal/regulatory requirements.
