We are seeking a reliable and highly motivated Data Center Technician to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of data center infrastructure. This position requires flexibility, including the ability to work overtime (OT) and be on standby as needed to ensure the continuous operation of the data center.


Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain data center hardware, servers, networking equipment, and related infrastructure.
  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on data center equipment.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software within the data center environment.
  • Perform data backups and ensure the integrity of the data.
  • Respond to incidents and issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Ensure all hardware is operating within manufacturer specifications.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to implement infrastructure changes and upgrades.
  • Document data center activities, procedures, and inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with data center security and safety protocols.
  • Assist in capacity planning, hardware installation, and decommissioning of outdated equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair on-site as needed to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
  • Participate in routine disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to other departments as required.
  • Work flexible hours, including overtime and on-call/standby duties as required to support 24/7 data center operations.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Data Center Technician or in a similar technical support role.
  • Strong understanding of data center operations, including server hardware, networking, and storage systems.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of networking protocols and hardware (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, routers).
  • Proficient in using monitoring tools to track system performance and identify potential issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Availability for overtime and standby shifts as required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
