About the role: Our client is a leading chemical manufacturing company that is expanding their existing operations in Singapore.


Work Location: Jurong Island (Company transport is provided to and from Jurong East MRT station).


About the role:

The Production Engineer (HSE) is responsible for overseeing daily operations and project safety, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, and driving continuous safety improvements. This role involves managing risk assessments and ensuring occupational safety standards are met.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations as an HSE Production Engineer, ensuring safety across both daily operations and construction projects at the site.
  • Manage the HSE aspects of operations, including risk assessments, Hazop studies for new modifications, changes to operating procedures, and site construction activities.
  • Review and identify high-risk activities in the process operations based on Hazop studies, and hold regular meetings with the production manager to develop plans for improving safety in these high-risk areas.
  • Work closely with production and logistics teams to ensure safe work procedures are followed in the process operations.
  • Review and prioritize safety observation feedback based on risk levels, following up through the MOC process. Ensure improvement actions are tracked with records and timelines.
  • Collaborate with project engineers, production teams, and maintenance coordinators to ensure safety-related projects are executed and completed on time.
  • Review emergency and disaster prevention procedures, ensuring they are up to date and aligned with current operations.
  • Lead and drive any additional HSE improvement projects or activities.
  • Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by superiors.


About you:

  • Experience working in the chemical industry
  • In-depth understanding of safety legislation and regulations within the chemical sector
  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Health, Safety, or Environmental studies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity for critical thinking
