A door host or hostess, is responsible for greeting guestes at the door of a restaurant or other establishment:
- Welcoming Guest : Greet guests in a friendly and professional Manner
- Seating Guests: Seat guests based on the availability and preferences
- Providing menus: Present guest with clean Menus.
- Answering Phone calls: Take phone calls and make reservations.
- Managing table turnover: Monitor restaurant activity to ensure flow and seating.
- Supporting other staff: Assist with busing and serving duties.
Other resposibilities of hos or hostess include:
- Create a warm and welcoming environment
- Making sure guest feel cared for and valued.
- Providing clear and accurate wait times.
