Job Description
The Division of Family Medicine (DFM) at NUS research themes include chronic diseases, health longevity, cancer care, mental health, multimorbidity, family orientation and care coordination within the primary care setting.
We are looking to appoint a Research Fellow to support the primary care research programmes involving biostatistics. The Fellow will bring a combination of technical expertise in data science and applied statistical methods in primary care research.
The responsibilities include:
- Lead research projects that fall in DFM’s areas of interest and set up relevant research collaborations within and outside of the Division
- Provide support to other academic staff in the preparation of new grant proposals, ethics applications, manuscripts, and oral presentations
- Assist in the management of research activities including team coordination, mentoring of junior researchers, conducting research workshops and seminars
- Interact with interdisciplinary teams to build research capacity amongst our primary care partners
- Be a lead member of the research committee within DFM

Qualifications
NUS offers highly competitive remuneration packages. The successful applicant will be offered an annual salary plus benefits commensurate with his or her qualifications, experience and expertise and will have access to travel support to disseminate research outcomes at international academic conferences.
The position is a 1-year full-time appointment at the academic rank of Research Fellow. An option to renew the appointment for subsequent years will depend on performance and continued funding for the project. Start date is flexible, with the position expected to commence in the first half of 2025.
Job Requirements:
- A recognized Doctoral degree in Data Science, Statistics or a closely related field with a strong post-doctoral research record
- Proven track record in handling and analyzing large healthcare dataset
- Track record of publishing in international peer-reviewed journals
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Highly developed problem-solving skills and adept at managing complex research data
- Evidence of potential to generate and maintain an independent stream of funding
- Outcome-orientation with excellent organizational and project management skills, and attention to detail
