RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pastoral Support and Guidance
- Plan and conduct workshops and activities for students on a range of topics related to holistic wellbeing.
- Organise briefings and workshops for faculty on the University's pastoral care support and early intervention services, so that they are able to detect students with issues early and refer to be given the necessary help and care.
- Establish visibility and rapport with students through proactively reaching out to them through focus group sessions, roadshows, walkabouts and other programmes.
- Manage student outreach channels (e.g. social media account) and regularly update content in the Resilience@SMU App.
- Manage and analyse findings from student pulse surveys, identifying needs and trends and propose/execute intervention/preventive measures.

- Bachelor's Degree. Qualifications in Psychology, Sociology, Counselling or Social Work will be advantageous.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience is required, though candidates with less work experience but who demonstrate strong potential will still be considered.
- Familiarity with the education sector and/or student affairs will be advantageous.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Strong understanding and familiarity with higher education environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with student and staff populations.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills.
- Good computer skills including MS Office, and database usage.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students and staff;
- Work in cross-cultural settings and strong interest in working with a diverse population of students;
- Interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments;
- Adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities;
- Analyse feedback data and identify needs and gaps of the system in place.
- Good co-ordination and organizational skills.
- Appointment for this position will only begin on and after 1 April 2025.
