Job Description:
- Patient History: Check the patient’s medical history, allergies, and any previous procedures.
- Physical Check: Take vital signs and assess the patient’s condition to ensure they’re ready for the procedure.
- Pre-Procedure Care: Plan to administer medications and prepare the procedure site (e.g., shaving the area).
- Equipment Prep: Make sure all instruments and supplies are ready for the procedure.
- Before Procedure: Administer medications as prescribed and prepare the patient.
- During Procedure: Assist the medical team and monitor the patient.
- After Procedure: Monitor the patient closely in the CMU for any complications and inform the doctor if needed.
- Monitor Recovery: Check the patient for any problems like bleeding or reactions to medications.
- Update Care: Adjust the care plan if necessary and communicate with the team.
- Patient Education: Make sure the patient understands how to care for themselves after the procedure.
- Ensure safety when giving contrast media and be ready to handle emergencies calmly, such as during a Code Blue.
Requirements:
- Degree / Diploma in Nursing
- Post Basic Specialty Certificate/Advanced Diploma in Nursing.
- SNB Registered Senior/ Staff Nurse
- At least 3 years of clinical experience
- A minimum of 1 year experience in Cardiology or Radiology interventional procedures will be advantageous.
