Position Available: Project Officer


We are looking for a Project Officer to assist in an RNA biology and cancer epigenetics project. The role will focus on performing a variety of cell and molecular biology, transcriptomics and genomics experiments including molecular cloning, PCR, western blotting, nucleic acids isolation, lentiviral production and transduction, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and next generation sequencing library preparation. Additionally, the candidate will assist in some administrative duties such as procurement, inventory monitoring and equipment maintenance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute experiments using standard cell and molecular biology techniques.
  • Analyze data from experiments such as western blotting, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), and molecular cloning.
  • Assist in administrative tasks including procurement, inventory monitoring, safety/risk assessment and equipment maintenance.
  • Organize and document experimental procedures and data in the laboratory logbook.
  • Support lab inventory management and organization.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with Honors in life sciences, biochemistry, cancer biology, molecular biology, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a research laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in mammalian tissue culture, lentiviral stable cell line generation, molecular cloning, western blotting, and ChIP.
  • Competency in data analysis software such as PRISM and ImageJ.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
