Job Description
The successful candidate will work with Assistant Professor Andrea Phua’s lab on a range of projects, primarily “Investigating the cognitive functions of neuronal cilia in dorsomedial striatum- mediated goal-directed learning”.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
- Conducting mouse behavior experiments
- Conducting mouse brain stereotaxic surgeries
- Managing mouse breeding colonies
- Performing molecular biology experiments e.g. virus vector production
Qualifications
The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology or Veterinary Technology. Polytechnic diploma holders with relevant skills and experience are also encouraged to apply.
Skills:
- Strong interest in neuroscience research
- Excellent time and resource management skills
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work well with interdisciplinary colleagues
Experience:
- Experience in small animal care, surgery and husbandry
- Understands small rodent behavior
- Good knowledge of molecular biology e.g. genotyping, molecular cloning, virus vector production, mammalian cell culture
