Project Officer (Metallurgy)

The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Nanyang Technological Universityis (NTU) looking for a highly motivated candidate to join us as Project Officer to facilitate the research led by Nanyang Assistant Professor Yi-Sheng (Eason) Chen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of project goals
  • Conduct high-quality research and disseminate outcomes in peer-reviewed journals and academic conferences
  • Participate in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate researchers
  • Collaborate with local/overseas research groups
  • Establish one or more independent research programmes under the guidance of PI and other senior mentors
  • Develop competitive funding proposals in collaboration with PI and other senior colleagues
  • Engage in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to curriculum development and pedagogical innovation
  • Contribute to the development of international and local research communities
  • Support the operation of PI's research group, including recuitment and external engagement
  • Engage in developing and mainting a safe and inclusive work environment

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Materials Science or related fields
  • Excellent proven track records in the development of advanced alloys and their applications in energy conversion
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to transmit research results into published research outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and to communicate effectively with team members
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet research deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with academic and industry partners
  • Sound working knowledge and acute awareness of safety regulations and operating procedures within the laboratory environment.
