The A*STAR Institute for Human Development and Potential (A*STAR IHDP) focuses on research that aims to improve and impact the health and well-being of Singaporeans across the life course.

Job Description:

We are seeking for an enthusiastic and capable computational scientist to help identify protein or metabolite biomarkers of disease risk or treatment response. The scientist will work with an interdisciplinary team of molecular biologists, clinicians, epidemiologists, statisticians and engineers to analyses human data from diverse cohorts. The research will have an impact on adolescent and adult health, as well as develop AI technologies for developing interventions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Apply advanced statistical and computational methods to analyze large datasets of protein or metabolite profiles.
  • Develop multi-modal data analysis pipelines for drug discovery and disease modifying strategies
  • Perform machine learning analyses on large biomedical datasets for diagnostic or therapeutic applications
  • Manage research projects, from hypothesis generation to results dissemination
  • Design protein profiling studies and help prepare funding proposals
  • Coordinate collaborations with external advisors, institutions, and interdisciplinary teams.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Bioinformatics or Biomedical Engineering or a related field
  • Expertise in protein profiling and computational modelling of multi-modal patient datasets
  • Developed or used machine learning approaches to predict diagnosis or health outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to publish in high-impact journals on protein biomarkers in humans and approaches to profile them
