Position Overview:
The AV Technician will be a key contributor to the seamless operation and maintenance of MAS's audio-visual (AV) and video conferencing (VC) systems. This role requires technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting a wide range of virtual and physical events. The AV Technician will ensure all AV systems are functioning optimally while delivering exceptional service to MAS's stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Event Support and Operations
- Operate and manage AV and VC systems for daily virtual and physical events, ensuring smooth execution.
- Plan and coordinate schedules for multiple events, including multi-day sessions, with setups and tests completed at least 30 minutes before the start of each event.
2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Conduct predictive and preventive maintenance to ensure AV and VC systems remain in excellent working condition.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of equipment, addressing issues promptly.
- Monitor and respond to maintenance service requests, investigating faults, and initiating corrective actions for equipment breakdowns.
3. Reporting and Documentation
- Produce and maintain weekly maintenance reports for filing and review.
- Maintain an up-to-date asset inventory with proper labeling and detailed incident/problem reports.
- Update engineering system information databases, including drawings, operations manuals, and maintenance logs.
4. Coordination and Supervision
- Supervise and coordinate rectification, maintenance, replacement, and upgrading of AV and VC systems.
- Collaborate with contractors for AV equipment setup, seating arrangements, and venue preparation.
- Oversee cleaning contractors and ensure the readiness of meeting venues.
5. Additional Responsibilities
- Handle other AV and VC system tasks or related duties as required by operational needs.
- Qualifications and Skills:
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in AV equipment operations, maintenance, and facility management services.
- Minimum qualification: NITEC/Higher NITEC in Facility Management, Mechanical and Electrical Services, or equivalent.
- Experience in broadcasting, live production, or AV and VC operations and maintenance.
- Proficiency with hardware such as cameras, video switchers, lighting, and sound systems used in professional video and live streaming setups.
- Familiarity with filming equipment and studio production, with experience on production sets or within production teams.
- Independent, self-motivated, and an effective team player, comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
