- Offer technical expertise and professional guidance while providing efficient support to all business units on matters related to trade finance.
- Collaborate with the Treasury Team to manage banking relationships in trade finance, ensuring the best possible pricing for trade finance services.
- Assist with daily trade operations across business units, handling tasks such as Letters of Credit (LC), confirmations, export bill discounting, open account receivables, and monitoring payment deadlines.
- Identify and engage with confirming/negotiating banks for Export LCs, coordinating with banks and business units to manage line reservations.
- Work closely with business units to explore opportunities to reduce working capital through receivable discounting, credit insurance, and inventory financing strategies.
- Maintain strong communication with trade operators and banks regarding LC terms and other trade finance-related issues, such as LC amendments and Letters of Indemnity (LOI).
- Coordinate with the Global Trade Finance Desk in Geneva for global trade finance matters.
- Ensure the resolution of discrepancies flagged by banks.
- Generate management reports for all trade finance activities using various systems.
- Provide support for cash management and treasury operations as a backup role.
Job Requirements:
- Master’s / Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and/or Finance or Chartered Accountant
- Extensive understanding of the trade finance market
- Technical knowledge of Trade Finance Instruments like LCs/ SBLCs/ BGs etc
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in a corporate treasury environment (Commodity Trading Company is a plus) or in similar role.
