NTU Institute of Structure Biology (NISB) provides a complete pipeline for Structural Biology to accelerate discovery in basic and applied Bioscience.
At NISB, we aim to integrate a comprehensive set of Structural Biology tools to address fundamental questions in biology, to understand human diseases and to accelerate structure-based drug discovery. We have the expertise and equipment to bring your gene of interest from plasmid to atomic level structure using a series of state-of-the art platforms for Protein expression, biophysical characterization and imaging using cryo-EM, tomography or X-ray crystallography.

We are looking for a Senior Research Fellow to play a leading role in running NISB in close partnership with the NISB Director. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive impactful research while fostering collaboration and innovation in a dynamic scientific environment. The job scope includes:
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various academic and industry users of NISB facilities to define their needs and to help design and perform the experiments together with the core NISB team;
- Lead the NISB core team to ensure timely delivery of quality samples and deliverables (overexpressed protein, structure with proper protocol and documentation;
- Work with the core team to maintain accurate and comprehensive reporting and documentation for tasks commissioned by academic and industry users;
- Support NISB Director in advocating for NISB’s activities and technological platforms to enhance visitibility and engagement with stakeholders;
- Contribute to in-house research and platform technological development : the successful candidate can pursue independent research in structural biology or biotechnology aligned with the institute’s interest in protein structure and engineering.
Job Requirements:
- A PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Biotechnology or related field
- At least 2 years of relevant experiences in similar role / technical hands-on experience in protein related work
- Possesses international experience, acquired through postdoctoral experience documented by relevant publications
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in handling software to collect and process Structural Biology data (XDS, CCP4, Phenix for X-ray crystallography and Cryosparc, Relion for Cryo-EM
- Very good publication record in international peer reviewed journals in relevant fields
- Strong ability to work independently, to develop solutions under strict timelines, meticulous and eye for details Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrates strong collaboration skills by working effectively with diverse academic and industry stakeholders, as well as thriving in a fast-paced environment alongside the NISB core team
