Job Description

Support in strengthening the department’s international network of research collaborators. Provide expert advice in identifying new trends, innovations, priorities and strategies in research. Provide quality training to educate the next generation of surgical specialists. Aspire to pioneer and lead research & development of new surgical devices and services. To be aligned to the department’s research mission and focus.

The Visiting Professor will collaborate with PI(s) and support the department’s research mission and focus. He/she will be able to:

  1. Contribute to the broad research programme of the NUHS/NUS Department of Surgery (both existing and eventually new projects).
  2. Attend NUCeT research meeting. To review ongoing projects and publication progress.
  3. Discuss weekly case/tutorials for postgraduate education
  4. GS Residents focused clinical teaching
  5. Journal club and topic review facilitation
  6. TEA Session discussion to cluster trauma stakeholders
  7. Initiate and develop trauma tissue biobanking for Trauma multi-organ failure study
  8. Initiate and develop Singapore-UK Trauma quality improvement registry and comparision
  9. Aid in development of national trauma coagulopathy study on use of Factor Concentrates
  10. Be plenary speaker at National Trauma Injury Prevention Symposium
  11. Be Grand Round speaker on trauma systems
  12. Be advisor to SCDF on AI-enabled trauma pre-hospital response

Qualifications

The applicant should:

  • possess a relevant doctoral degree which is widely recognised internationally
  • possess a diverse and deep experience in research; a strong track record of publications in international peer-reviewed journals
  • be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature, attention to detail; and
  • competent in MS Office, PowerPoint, have good knowledge of data science/statistical software e.g. SPSS, R, STATA,etc is preferred

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
