Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care for patients with lower limb conditions of low to moderate complexities
- Independently assess and interpret findings to form a defined and clear diagnosis, formulate treatment plans with appropriate clinical reasoning, and provide treatment
- Make appropriate discharge plans and referral to other healthcare professionals where appropriate
- Explain treatment plan and expected outcomes to patient and caregiver
- Use appropriate outcome measures and modifies treatment as required
- Completes all clinical documentation promptly and in accordance with department’s standards
Requirements
- Possess a valid BCLS certificate, and all other relevant qualifications to carry out services as a Podiatrist
- Degree in podiatry from an institution recognised by Ministry of Health (Singapore)
- Preferably a member of the Podiatry Association of Singapore
- At least 2 years of working experience as Podiatrist
- Skilled in areas such as:
- Nail Trimming
- Conservative management of ingrown toe nail
- Callus Debridement
- Corn Enucleation
- Wound management (including sharp wound debridement technique and offloading),
- Biomechanical Assessment
- Taking impressions of feet (plaster of paris, foam box casting)
- Prescription and fitting of prefabricated and customised foot orthotics (including trouble shooting)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
