Responsibilities:
- Manages the team responsible for erecting steel frames, beams, columns, and other steel components, ensuring proper alignment and assembly.
- A thorough understanding of blueprints, engineering drawings, and structural plans is essential to ensure that steel structures are constructed accurately.
- Directing a team of steelworkers, welders, and laborers, providing guidance, assigning tasks, and ensuring productivity and quality.
- Enforcing safety standards and regulations (such as OSHA guidelines) to protect workers and minimize accidents on site.
- Ensuring that materials and workmanship meet the specified standards and that construction progresses according to schedule.
- Coordinating with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure the steel structure meets the overall design and construction timeline.
- Addressing any challenges that arise on the job site, whether related to materials, logistics, or design issues.
- Overseeing the delivery and usage of steel materials, ensuring they are stored and handled safely and efficiently.
- Updating project managers or supervisors on the progress of the steel structure and any issues encountered.
Requirements
- Diploma or equivalent certificate in construction management or structural engineering
- Min 3 year of relevant experience in steel construction or a related field, as a steelworker or welder.
- Deep understanding of steel structures, welding, fabrication processes, and construction techniques.
- Ability to lead and communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders.
