JOB SUMMARY
- This is a fixed term 12-month contract with the Bank.
- We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the delivery of the strategic Genesis program within the bank, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations. The Genesis Program aims to transform the Group’s balance sheet forecasting capabilities by designing and implementing a range of new tools and process changes. This role will oversee end-to-end program management, balancing strategic objectives, operational efficiency, and governance standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering value to the business while coordinating cross-functional teams, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Define the program’s objectives, success metrics, and strategic alignment with the bank’s priorities.
- Ensure that program deliverables support the bank’s broader transformation, growth, and innovation strategies.
Business
- Develop and implement a robust program plan that delivers measurable value within agreed timelines and budget.
- Work closely with business leaders to identify opportunities, dependencies, and potential risks associated with the program.
Processes
- Oversee all phases of the program lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Manage program scope, timelines, and budgets, ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
- Establish and maintain standardized processes, tools, and templates to streamline program execution and reporting.
- Identify and resolve program issues and bottlenecks efficiently, escalating where necessary to senior management.
People & Talent
- Coordinate, motivate, and manage cross-functional teams, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities.
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative environment, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
- Identify resource needs and work with HR and business units to allocate and onboard appropriate talent.
- Be a key voice within Group FP&A, Treasury COO and Plan to Perform leadership teams
Risk Management
- Implement robust risk management practices, identifying, assessing, and mitigating program risks proactively.
- Ensure adherence to the bank’s governance framework, policies, and procedures throughout the program lifecycle.
Governance
- Monitor and report on program progress, risks, and financials to executive leadership and relevant committees.
- Manage compliance with internal and external audit requirements related to the program.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Our Ideal Candidate
- 8+ years of program management experience, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred); PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Strong strategic planning, financial management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage diverse teams.
- Proficiency in program management tools (e.g. Clarity, Microsoft Project, JIRA).
- Deep understanding of banking operations, products, and regulatory environments.
- Familiarity with change management methodologies and agile frameworks.
- Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders effectively.
- Exceptional problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
