DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and develop existing and new distribution channels in Asia Pacific region
- Drive refinement of appetite to pursue promising opportunities across the region.
- Contribute to underwriting governance and quality in collaboration with the head of international casualty.
- Handle Casualty submissions from underwriters across the region.
- Manage interface at senior levels of key distribution partners
- Manage Underwriting and Financial / Risk Analysis of submissions, quotes, negotiations& bind business
- Work closely with underwriters within the Asia Pacific team to grow the portfolio successfully and profitably
- Handle certain admin functions; co-ordinate with policy admin team to ensure accuracy of work performed, including but not limited to policy issuance, premium booking & filing
- Participate in external events when required as a representative of the company
- Ability to work in a matrix structure with geographic and product reporting lines.
- Assist Local and Regional Heads with budgets, reports and Reinsurance Treaty requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor (Finance and Accounting degree are preferable)
- Has knowledge of insurance principles
- Minimum 10 years insurance industry experience in underwriting and/or broking
- Knowledge and relationship of the Asia Pacific insurance market
- Good analytical, numerical and literacy skills
- Proficient with computer, and experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other industry related
systems
