RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position is for Centre for Commercial Law in Asia (CCLA).
  • Support Manager in planning and organising in-person, virtual and hybrid events including public lectures, conferences, seminars and meetings in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for procurement and negotiation with event vendors and processing payment in accordance with SMU policies and guidelines.
  • Undertake end-to-end operational and logistical aspects of events including publicity.
  • Track event expenses and keep within budget.
  • Prepare reports, documents and correspondence, including as directed by Centre Directorship and Manager.
  • Respond to internal and external enquiries in a professional and customer-oriented manner.
  • Provide administration support for Centre.
  • Provide administration support as the secretariat for the Asian Corporate Law Forum and the Asia-Pacific Research Alliance on Law and Sustainability.
  • Assist in school events e.g. Commencement, Open House etc.
  • Singapore Global Restructuring Initiative (SGRI):
    • Assist with organisation of SGRI board meetings.
    • Assist with organisation and publicity of SGRI webinars and events.
    • Procurement, hiring and payment processing in relation to the SGRI.
    • Maintain SGRI website and blog updates.
    • Attend to external queries pertaining to the SGRI and events.
    • Provide administration support for Head, SGRI.
  • Any other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, Communications or similar.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in event management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills (especially Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of and adept at using cloud-based system e,g, Zoom, SharePoint, Cvent, web CMS etc.
  • Organised, meticulous, resourceful and responsible.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willing to work late and on some weekends occasionally.
