Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and creative Jewelry Designer to join our design team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for jewelry design, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to transform concepts into stunning pieces. The Jewelry Designer will be responsible for creating unique jewelry designs, staying updated with industry trends, and collaborating with other departments to bring designs to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development:Create original jewelry designs from concept to final product, ensuring they align with the company’s brand and market trends.
Develop sketches, renderings, and 3D models using design software (e.g., CAD).
Select appropriate materials, gemstones, and finishes for each design.
Stay current with fashion and jewelry trends to inspire and inform new designs.
- Collaboration and Communication:Work closely with the Head of Design to understand project requirements and objectives.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure designs are feasible and producible.
Liaise with marketing and sales departments to understand customer preferences and market demands.
Present design concepts and prototypes to stakeholders for feedback and approval.
- Technical Skills and Knowledge:Utilize design software and tools to create detailed drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of jewelry manufacturing processes, including casting, setting, and finishing.
Conduct quality checks on prototypes and final products to ensure they meet design specifications and standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve any design or production issues that arise.
- Project Management:Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.
Maintain organized records of all design projects, including sketches, models, and production notes.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components as needed.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement:Seek out new techniques, materials, and technologies to enhance the design process and product offerings.
Continuously improve design skills and knowledge through professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Jewellery Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in jewelry design, preferably in a luxury or high-end market.
- Proficiency in design software such as Rhino, Matrix, or other CAD programs.
- Knowledge of jewelry production processes and materials.
- Portfolio of previous jewelry design work required.
