Assistant Manager, Payroll & Claims Management (HR Shared Services)

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee our HR Payment and Claims team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional to lead a dynamic team while ensuring the timely and accurate processing of various HR-related transactions. You will play a key role in ensuring that HR processes such as payments, claims, and billing are managed efficiently, meeting both internal standards and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the timely and accurate processing of HR-related transactions across all institutions and departments.Key Areas: Manpower Billing, Honorarium, Payment Processing, Medical Claims, and related matters.
  • Ensure the team meets Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in accordance with organizational policies and relevant legislation.
  • Analyze and improve work processes to enhance team efficiency and overall performance.
  • Mentor and coach team supervisors and members to foster personal development, collaboration, and high team performance.
  • Lead and manage system improvement projects across HR Group Shared Services (GSS).
  • Participate in taskforces that promote the HR GSS values of Quality, Service, and Efficiency.
  • Oversee various HR-related payments such as intercompany billing, medical claims, compensation, benefits, research grants, and internal training payments.
  • Manage payments for self-funded inpatient/outpatient medical claims and research grants, including payments to doctors for research-related work.
  • Handle ad-hoc payments, such as bank rejections and one-off payroll cycles.
  • Lead the Claims team in processing self-funded inpatient and outpatient claims, managing medical benefits for dependents.
  • Supervise a team of 2-3 junior executives, providing guidance and support for their professional growth.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years in HR operations, with at least 3 years in a people management role.
  • Proficiency in HR systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors) and MS Office (Excel & Word).
  • Knowledge of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a plus.
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • High initiative and the ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, especially in payment allocation and claims management.
  • Experience in healthcare or Shared Services contexts is a plus.
  • Strong people management experience is highly preferred.
