We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in managing and maintaining backend systems, servers, and IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Windows and Linux environments, with a focus on ensuring system reliability, security, and optimal performance.
As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for performing daily, weekly, and quarterly system health checks, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, implementing system updates and patches, and ensuring compliance with security standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and support the seamless operation of IT services.
Job Scope:
System Engineer
- System Administration and Maintenance
- Manage and maintain backend systems, servers, and IT infrastructure, including Windows and Linux environments.
- Perform regular system health checks (daily, weekly, and quarterly) to ensure optimal system performance and stability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum reliability.
- Oversee system updates, patches, and configurations to maintain security and compliance.
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Continuously monitor server performance, resource utilization, and system logs to identify and address potential issues.
- Generate detailed reports on system performance, health status, and maintenance activities for review by management.
- Backup and Recovery
- Ensure proper backup procedures are in place for critical data and systems.
- Regularly test backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and quick restoration in case of failures.
- Security and Compliance
- Implement and enforce system security policies, including user access controls and operating system hardening.
- Monitor and mitigate vulnerabilities by applying security patches and updates to systems.
- Collaboration and Support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications.
- Provide technical support and expertise to end-users and team members as needed.
- Optimization and Continuous Improvement
- Analyze system performance trends and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications and Skills for System Analyst
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux (e.g., RedHat, Ubuntu) operating systems.
- Experience in backend system management and server administration.
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools and utilities.
- Understanding of backup and recovery tools and processes.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server are advantageous.
