Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of lifeboats, davits, and related safety systems in accordance with SOLAS and IMO standards.
Perform load testing, release gear inspections, and condition assessments.
- Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Ensure all repairs meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare inspection and maintenance reports for submission to classification societies or flag authorities.
Maintain accurate records of completed work, including parts and labor used.
- Provide technical support and advice to clients regarding lifeboat safety and equipment compliance.
Offer guidance on preventative maintenance programs.
- Stay updated with international maritime safety regulations and standards.
Ensure work is performed in a safe manner, following company and industry safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in lifeboat inspection and servicing (e.g., SOLAS or manufacturer-specific training).
- Proven experience in lifeboat maintenance, repair, and servicing (3+ years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of maritime safety regulations, including SOLAS, IMO, and LSA Code requirements.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
