RESPONSIBILITIES

The Executive (Programme) will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the Active Ageing Centre (AAC) by planning, implementing, and managing programmes and services that promote active and healthy ageing. Reporting to the Centre Supervisor, the Executive will work closely with staff, volunteers, and community partners to create a supportive and engaging environment for seniors.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop and organize programmes aligned with the five domains of the Active Ageing Programme (AAP): Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Social, and Vocational.
  • Plan and execute daily activities, festive celebrations, and community events to enhance seniors' well-being.
  • Evaluate programme effectiveness and recommend improvement based on seniors' feedback and participation.

Community Engagement:

  • Conduct outreach efforts, including door-knocking and home visits, to identify and engage isolated or vulnerable seniors.
  • Collaborate with community stakeholders to promote the AAC's services and build strategic partnerships.
  • Facilitate community-based initiatives, such as communal dining and intergenerational activities.

Volunteer and Stakeholder Management:

  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support centre activities and outreach efforts.
  • Maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and corporate partners.

Administration:

  • Maintain accurate records of seniors' participation, programme reports, and other documentation.
  • Support the Centre Supervisor in managing the centre's operational needs, including scheduling and logistics.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.

Client Support Services:

  • Assist seniors with referrals to appropriate social and healthcare services based on their needs.
  • Provide basic case management support, including follow-up and monitoring progress.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Centre Supervisor and other team members to align programmes with organisational objectives.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and planning days to contribute ideas and support overall goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma or Degree in Social Work, Gerontology, Psychology, or related fields.
  • At least 2 years of experience in community work, program coordination, or working with seniors.
  • Familiarity with active ageing principles and the challenges faced by seniors.

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage seniors, volunteers, and stakeholders.
  • Programme planning and organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data management systems.
  • Cultural sensitivity and empathy in working with diverse senior populations.
  • Fluent in English and at least one local language/dialect to communicate effectively with seniors.
